
“Rev. Yinessa joined Cathedral of Hope (CoH) United Church of Christ in 2010. She had played different volunteer church functions and especially she has been a lay and clergy leader of the Latinx Congregation of the CoH. Rev. Yinessa has collaborated in several initiatives of the South Central Conference, especially through the North Texas Association. At the national level, she has served on the Transition Team of The Colectivo of Latinx Ministries for several years, and in the last year as Colectivo Treasurer. She collaborates with UCC Encuentros Latinx and serves on the national UCC team that is reviewing the Manual on Church. Rev. Yinessa was the recipient of the UCC Rev. Dr. Hector E. Lopez Scholarship while she was at Chicago Theological Seminary from where she obtained excellent qualifications in her Master of Divinity degree. She currently works at a hospice chaplain while she maintains her active participation at the local, regional, national and global level of the UCC. Rev. Yinessa chooses to serve at the Colectivo for her commitment to be an active Christian that pursue inclusion for all people and for her that means to strengthen the religious and cultural expressions within the UCC and the doing of many actions that promote social, racial and ethnic justice in USA and in the world.”
